The Entertainment Retailers Association has released its figures for 2020. Despite the challenges, it has been a strong year for the video games industry, across all platforms and media - even boxed products, which are up 7.2%.
For anyone still in doubt as to the powerhouse that the games industry has become, the figures speak for themselves: video games now account for almost half of all entertainment sales in the UK.
A remarkable achievement, which will not go unnoticed by investors and Government policy makers alike.

Games were once again the largest entertainment sector, representing 48% of total sales, while video and music accounted for 35% and 17% respectively.
