In an interesting development, the UK Jurisdiction Taskforce has published its Digital Dispute Resolution Rules, which are intended to be used for and incorporated into on-chain digital relationships and smart contracts.

The rules provide for an arbitration process tailored to digital disputes, which includes a flexible and speedy procedure, the option for parties to remain anonymous, and the possibility of the arbitral tribunal itself operating, modifying, signing or cancelling any digital asset relevant to the dispute.

We look forward to seeing how use of the rules grows and how their application plays out in practice.
