The eagerly awaited Charities Act 2022 has received Royal Assent.
The changes to charity law seek to simplify the day-to-day management of charities and will be welcomed by many trustees, particularly of smaller charities.
We look forward to seeing the Charity Commission implementing the changes between now and autumn 2023, and will provide updates on the process in the coming months.
This is a moment for celebration. We welcome the provisions of the legislation, which originated with recommendations from the Law Commission and are primarily aimed at making life easier for trustees, helping them maximise the benefits their charity delivers.
