City lawyer Joanna Torode’s High Court stress claim against her employer, global law firm Ropes & Gray, has now been settled.
In 2021 Ms Torode commenced her High Court occupational health stress claim, seeking personal injury damages. She alleged that her career was ended prematurely as a result of working conditions in the firm’s London office which led to the deterioration of her mental health. Ropes & Gray denied liability.
I represented Ms Torode in this litigation with Jeremy Hyam QC was retained as Counsel. The litigation has now been resolved to the satisfaction of both parties.
Joanna Torode, 46, blames “horrific” working conditions at the London office of international firm Ropes and Gray for a “meltdown” in front of colleagues.
